What the genre actually is, what carries over, and how a browser arena brawler compares — honestly
If you searched for games like Brawl Stars, you are almost certainly after one specific feeling: short top-down matches, a roster of fighters who each play differently, a big flashy Super, and a match that ends before you get bored. That genre is called an arena brawler.
Arena Blast is one, and its main difference is that it is a browser game — you click, it loads, you play. No app store, no install, no account, no 2 GB download onto a phone that is already full.
Arena Blast is an independent game. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Supercell. Brawl Stars is named on this page only to describe a genre, which is the clearest way to explain what kind of game this is.
Strip the brand away and the genre is a short checklist. A good arena brawler needs all of it:
Arena Blast ticks every one of those. Where it diverges is worth knowing before you spend time on it, so the rest of this page is the honest version — including what it does not do.
| What | Arena Blast |
|---|---|
| Price | Free. No paid unlock to play any mode. |
| Install | None — it runs in the browser tab. Optional “add to home screen” makes it a real app that works offline. |
| Fighters | 10, each with a unique Super and 4 skins (42 skins total). |
| Modes | 9 — including a 100-player battle royale. |
| Multiplayer | Real online PvP with quick match, plus private rooms by code. Offline vs bots always available. |
| Platforms | Phone (twin-stick touch) and PC (WASD + mouse), same URL. |
| Languages | English, Português, Português (Brasil), Español, Français. |
| Pay-to-win | No. See the numbers below. |
If you already know the genre, this is the fastest way to find your footing. Full detail lives in the game modes guide.
| If you liked… | Play this | What is different |
|---|---|---|
| Last one standing | Royale | 100 players on a map 100× normal size, with a closing toxic storm and poison pools. Battle is the same idea at 10 players if you want it quick. |
| Collect and hold | Gems | Bank 10 gems and survive 10 seconds. Also playable in online multiplayer. |
| Team fights | 3v3 | You and two allies against an enemy team. Elimination — there are no respawns. |
| Zone control | King of the Hill | Hold the centre circle until the domination bar fills. |
| 1v1 skill test | Tournament | Three straight duels — quarter, semi, final — each against a tougher opponent. |
| Endless survival | Horde | Infinite waves. Reach 20 eliminations without dying. |
| Free-for-all with respawns | Deathmatch | 90 seconds, respawns on, most eliminations wins, live top-3 board. |
There is no ball/sports mode and no bank-the-loot heist mode. If those are the two you actually play, this is not a replacement for them — worth saying plainly.
In an arena brawler the whole point is finding out who is actually better. That falls apart the moment “best” quietly means “spent the most”. Arena Blast is built so it cannot mean that, and the numbers are public:
| Fighter | Cost | Burst damage per second | Health |
|---|---|---|---|
| ⚡ Bolt | Free (starter) | 93 | 100 |
| 🛡️ Tanko | 150 coins | 83 | 165 |
| ❄️ Frost | 250 coins | 88 | 110 |
| 🎯 Nia | 300 coins | 45 (sniper — longest range) | 85 |
| 🌑 Sombra | 400 coins | 58 | 85 |
| 🌀 Pulso | 500 coins (most expensive) | 87 — below the free fighter | 105 |
The free starter has the second-highest burst damage in the game, and the priciest fighter is weaker than it. Cost tracks how differently a fighter plays, not how strong it is. Every fighter is earnable with coins from playing, and six of them are handed out free along the level-up Reward Road.
Gems exist and you can buy them, but they only buy time — skipping the grind on a fighter or a skin — and cosmetics. Nothing sold makes your shots hit harder. See the tier list for how close the roster really is.
Being straight about this is more useful than pretending otherwise:
What you get in exchange is the thing that made you search for an alternative: it starts in about three seconds, on whatever device you already have open, for free, and nobody can buy an advantage over you.
