Reach is bullet speed times pellet lifetime; volley damage assumes all four connect — which, as you'll see, is the whole problem.

Why you pick Frost

Frost is the fighter you take when the map has a spot worth standing on. Four pellets leave at once in a fan about 38 degrees wide, every half second, and if all four bite that is 44 damage in one trigger pull — the second-largest volley in the roster behind Tanko's 50, and faster than his 0.6-second cadence.

What she cannot do is chase. At 215 speed she is level with Nia and slower than everyone bar Tanko and Rocco, and her pellets fizzle out around 330 units — eighth of ten for reach, shorter than Bolt, Zippy, Medika or Pulso. Her 110 HP flatters her too: fourth-largest pool in the game, but the roster average is 107.5, so she sits two and a half points above it. Tanko's 165 is a real health advantage. Hers is not.

Her damage is a distance, not a number

That 44 is a best case that only exists up close. The pellets travel as a fan, so the further the target, the further apart they arrive. Inside roughly two-thirds of her range they are packed tighter than a fighter is wide and three or four connect; out at the edge an enemy can stand between them and you are doing 11 a volley. A Frost fighting at maximum range is a Frost at quarter strength.

So positioning is a damage stat for her: doorways, wall corners, the mouth of a corridor — anywhere the enemy arrives at a distance you chose. Bushes are especially kind, since enemies cannot pick you out of one until they are within about 160 units and your pellets travel twice that far. Energy cubes multiply for the same reason, adding 2 damage per pellet — three push a clean fan from 44 to 68 and your health from 110 to 134.

Super: Frost Ring

❄️ Super
Frost Ring
Sixteen shots fire outward in a full circle, then a shield clamps down on Frost. The ring is not a nuke — each shot lands for 16, and a target realistically eats one or two before the circle expands past them. The shield is the real payload: while it holds, every hit you take is cut to 40% of its damage.

Nothing you absorb fills that bar. Only damage you deal charges it, at roughly 45% of the damage dealt, with 15 more dropped in every time you finish someone. A perfect four-pellet fan is worth 19.8, so five flawless volleys still leave you a pellet short — the consolation being that chip damage counts for Frost in a way it never does for a sniper.

Fire it for the shield, not the ring. Spend it when somebody has already committed: a Sombra mid-dash, a Brasa detonating on top of you, a Tanko walking into shotgun range. Shadow Charge does 120 if all three of her shots land, erasing 110 HP outright — behind the shield it does 48, and she is standing next to you with nothing left.

Strengths

Watch out for

Mode by mode

The two objective modes — King of the Hill and Gem Rush — are hers, for the same reason: both hand you a fixed piece of ground and pay you for standing on it. As the gem carrier, hold the Super until the ten-second countdown actually starts — that is when everyone converges, and a 60% damage cut beats any burst in the game at that moment. On the hill, the ring's job is clearing bodies out of the circle so your bar unfreezes.

In 3v3 she is the second line, not the front: let Tanko absorb the opening trade and fire into the cluster behind him, since a spread weapon is far more forgiving against three grouped bodies than one dodging duellist. Horde is playable — Frost Ring is a genuine anti-surround button — but one misjudged kiting circle at 215 speed and the wave has you. Battle, Royale and Deathmatch reward reach and legs, and she is short on both.

💡 Watch the ring expand once in Training. Knowing exactly how far Frost Ring reaches is what tells you whether a diving enemy is already inside it or still a step outside.

Matchups worth knowing

Tanko is her best matchup and most players throw it away. He does 50 a volley to your 44 and carries 165 HP, so you lose any brawl — but you out-range him by nearly 90 units and reload faster. Back off, keep him at the edge, refuse the fight he wants. Zippy dies to two clean fans, which sounds easy until you remember she crosses your whole effective range in a little over a second: don't aim at her, aim where the fan will be.

Nia and Rocco beat you in the open and there is no footspeed answer — Nia matches your 215, Rocco is slower still at 195 — so the counter is walls. Drag them into a corridor where their single projectile has to be aimed and yours doesn't.

Unlocking & skins

The Reward Road hands Frost over for nothing at player level 8 — she is the fourth fighter along it — and the shop will sell her for 250 coins if you want her sooner. Four looks: Classic, Aurora at 70 coins, Magma at 120 and Spectre at 150.
